Avoiding the Holiday Bulge with Good Advice

It seems as holidays roll around your waist line begins to roll also.  If you are tired of buying a bigger size for your holiday dress and are ready to take control of your holiday eating here are ten tips to help you stay trim and slim during the holidays.

If you find it nearly impossible to keep extra pounds and at bay during the holidays the problem may be you need more advice.  Americans are always searching for the next self help advice and complaining about all the extra pounds during the holidays.  Now here is a simple list of self help advice to help you stay trim during the holidays.

1. Stay active.  Keep up with walks and exercise during the holidays.  If you are busy try cutting the amount of time back but still keep moving.
2. Keep eating.  Don’t go to parties hungry.  Eat sensible meals and keep yourself full.  You will be less likely to overindulge at parties.
3. Avoid the food.  At parties potision yourself away from the buffet.  This gives you the ability to chat while avoiding the food.
4. Wear tight fitting clothes.  If your clothes are snug you will be more aware of how much you eat.
5. Remember portion size.  Keep portions small.  You will be able to sample more and still stay trim.
6. Take time for yourself. Take time to relax each day.  Even with busy holiday schedules if you take time each day to sit quietly and relax you will keep focused on your goals.
7. Keep track of food.  Keep a food diary.  It will help you to keep focused on what you eat and you will be less likely to forget that morning cookie.
8. Eat what you like.  Save the calories for the foods you really like.  You do not have to sample every thing at the buffet.
9. Drink water.  Drink water instead of alcohol.  Alcohol has empty calories and will lower your will power.
10. Stop sampling.  Avoid sampling while you are cooking.  Those little bits can add up to a lot of calories.
